Hi! I’m Alexandria, a graphic designer based in Los Angeles who is constantly trying to find more space on my bookshelves.
Interspersed on the shelves, I can pick out my Florence art history book, Penguin Random House cookbooks, a history of Texas, and a coffee table book on palm trees. They reflect the many places I’ve lived and remind me of how I’ve had to adapt, adjust, and understand new perspectives. Somehow, there is still room for mementos, like paper flowers from a friend or a small felt doll. An interest in arts and crafts led me to value handmade work and appreciate the process of making. In my work, I’ve found something handmade grabs our attention, just as the books I’ve bound myself are always the first thing people notice in my little library. It’s true that my overstuffed bookshelves tell the story of my life and inspirations.
